Myopia Control
Myopia (Nearsightedness) is a progressive eye disorder which causes blurred vision at a distance. Most children hide or downplay their vision issues, either because they don’t want to wear glasses or simply, they don’t have a good idea of what their vision should be like. Myopia is corrected with glasses, contact lenses or surgery in some cases. Studies show myopia is becoming more common among children. Genetics, natural eye growth and spending a lot of time indoors doing near-focused activities like computer work, video games and reading are all factors that can increase your chances of getting myopia. There are ways to slow down the progression of myopia in children such as eye drops, lenses (myopia control contact lenses and myopia control glasses) and habit adjustments.
Pediatric Eye Exams
All children should have an eye exam before starting kindergarten. 80% of learning is visual which means that if a child’s vision is blurry it is hard to learn. A pediatric eye exam ensures that children have the best chance of achieving optimal vision, allowing them to thrive in school, socially, and emotionally. By detecting vision problems in children early, timely interventions can be made to improve outcomes.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
Comprehensive eye exams evaluate your eyes’ overall health and vision through a series of tests and evaluations. With the latest in state-of-the-art technology, our eye care clinic conducts the most precise measurements of your eye structures, allowing us to prescribe glasses or contact lenses as accurately as possible.
Eye Emergencies
If you are experiencing an eye emergency, seek immediate medical attention by contacting our clinic or going to your nearest emergency room. You could see your optometrist if you have red eyes, pink eyes, sore eyes, itchy eyes, or other similar eye emergencies. For all other types of eye emergencies you should go to the nearest emergency room.
LASIK and Refractive Surgery Co-Management
In order to determine if the patient is a good candidate for LASIK surgery, we will conduct a preoperative evaluation and then we will refer the patient to a LASIK surgeon to determine which corrective eye surgery procedure is right for you.
Management of Ocular Diseases
This includes diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. Patients’ unique needs are considered when managing ocular disease, including their age, lifestyle, and medical history.
Contact Lens Exam
Eye exams for contact lenses include special tests and measurements that are not included in routine eye exams for glasses. It is crucial to secure the correct fit, comfort, and safety of your contact lenses. Maintaining good eye health and receiving proper guidance regarding the use of contact lenses requires regular visits to an eye care professional.
Dry Eye Treatment
As the name implies, dry eye is a condition that affects your tear film, the three layers of tears that cover and protect your eyes. It is possible for dry eye disease to manifest itself in a variety of ways. Symptoms can also vary from person to person. It results also from the chronic lack of lubrication and moisture on the surface of the eye which can cause minor irritations, an inability to wear contact lenses and an increased risk of corneal inflammation and eye infections.
